It is appropriate that we honor our colleagues not only during their careers, but also at the end of life's journey. Nurse Honor Guards pay tribute to men and women who have dedicated their professional lives to the selfless service of others. Nurse Honor Guards were established to honor nurses after their death and are made up of active, retired, and student nurses who volunteer their time. Nurse Honor Guards are a mixture of LVNs, RNs, and APRNs. Any nurse, past or present, can volunteer. A Nurse Honor Guard is similar to a Military, Law Enforcement, or First Responder Honor Guard. Nurse Honor Guard services are always free of charge.
